The First Deputy Director General for Scientific Work of NIIAT Vitaliy Komarov took part in the World Forum for the harmonization of vehicle regulations

The 179th session of the World Forum for the harmonization of vehicle regulations was held in Geneva (Switzerland), on November 11-15, 2019. In the framework of the session there was organized the 16th meeting of the Informal Working Group on Periodical Technical Inspections.
The First Deputy Director General for Scientific Work of NIIAT Vitaliy Komarov is Co-Chair of the Working Group led by the Russian Federation and the Netherlands.
NIIAT has developed draft amendments to the Agreement Concerning the Adoption of Uniform Conditions for Periodical Technical Inspections of Wheeled Vehicles and the Reciprocal Recognition of Such Inspections (Done at Vienna on 13 November 1997), harmonized with the legislation of the Eurasian Economic Commission, the European Union and other parties of the 1997 Agreement.
This project establishes requirements for Roadside Inspections and the system for monitoring their functioning, it was supported by the Working Group, in which NIIAT is authorized to participate in accordance with the order of the the Russian Federation Government (dated 26.05.2011, № 908-p.)
The Secretary-General of the United Nations Antonio Guterres informed the contracting parties that, in accordance with the terms of the Vienna Agreement 1997, these amendments will enter into force on November 13, 2019.
Vitaly Komarov also presented at the Session the approach to assessing the conformity of vehicles during operation, which was presented, in turn, by the Russian Federation to the Working Group.
