The representative of the Ministry of Russia, Deputy Director Department of state policy and regulation in Hydrometeorology and environmental monitoring Victoria Venchikova stressed the importance of publishing from the point of view of formation of preconditions to ensure environmental safety in transport, as a result should influence the General ecological situation in the cities of the country. Eco-labelling, being the information system multi-purpose, aimed at increase of ecological safety of vehicles and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. It allows you to be free from environmentally dirty and energy inefficient cars. This was reported by lead author Vadim Donchenko.

The system of eco-labelling is an effective tool to inform consumers about the characteristics of the products they purchase. Special labels (labels, stickers), information sheets, electronic chips (tags), a database and a special mark in the registration documents provide information a wide range of citizens.

In the system of measures on reduction of harmful emissions from transport, labeling is important. Such identification of the environmental characteristics of vehicles and indicators of power allows you to run various administrative, economic, information and marketing tools with the aim of reducing the harm caused by vehicles to public health and the environment. Among such mechanisms, we propose the creation of "low emission zones" in the Central part of large cities of Russia, which is estimated to reduce CO2 emissions by an average of 10% per year in the area of limitation of motion, a shift in consumer demand towards more economical fuel consumption of cars will reduce emissions by 5% per year. Total emission reduction over ten years will reach more than 2.0 million tons.
