NIIAT specialist took part in the round table "Solving urban planning and transport problems of modern cities based on transport modeling"

The round table "Solving urban planning and transport problems of modern cities based on transport modeling" was held on February 18, 2020 at the Saint Petersburg State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering (SPbGASU) in order to familiarize the wide scientific community and industry experts with scientific developments and best practices in the field of transport modeling.



The event was organized by the SPbGASU Department of Transport Systems of the Automobile and Road Faculty together with the Association of Transport Engineers.

NIIAT provides partnership support to the activities of the Association of Transport Engineers, the main direction of which is to promote the development of the transport industry in Russia and the CIS countries by improving the quality of transport planning, modeling and management of transport systems at various levels, as well as regulating interaction between customers and executors of similar projects.

The round table was attended by the Head of the research NIIAT department "Problems of Sustainable Development of Transport Systems" Maxim Sharov, as well as representatives of universities, leading design and consulting organizations, city administrations from Russian regions and Donetsk People's Republic.

The meeting was moderated by the Head of the SPbGASU Department of Transport Systems Alexander Solodky.

The roundtable participants were greeted by the acting Dean of the Faculty of Automobile and Road Engineering Andrei Zazykin.

The leaders of leading organizations working in the field of transport planning and modeling spoke about their experience, the problems that they have to face in their work and ways to solve them.

As a result of that meeting a cooperation agreement was signed between the Association of Transport Engineers and the International Association of Urban Electric Transport Enterprises.
