Moscow Department of Transport considered "NIIAT" JSC proposals on ways to save energy and to increase energy efficiency of the transport industry

11 February 2014

A session of a workgroup of Science and Technology Council on energy conservation and on increase in energy efficiency of the transport complex organizations was held in Moscow Department of Transport and Road Infrastructure Development. Julius Kunin, head of the department of Environmental Security and Sustainable Transport Development, said that steps to increase energy efficiency of Moscow transport would contribute both to its overall efficiency and to fulfilment of Russia's international obligations to reduce CO2 emissions under the Kyoto Protocol. He stressed that it would not be sufficient for the Council to concentrate its work just at municipal transport companies level. Objectives of the state (and city) policy are wider in this aspect. Not just municipal enterprises, but all those involved in transport business as well, would be subject to these steps.

Representatives of Moscow Department of Transport, "Moscow Metro", "Mosgortrans" as well as of "Elton" JSC, "Enefko" LLC, " INTER RAO UES Power Efficiency Centre" and others also took part in the Session.
