Meeting of the Bureau (meeting in an extended format) was held on 2 – 3 of May 2019

Scientific Director of NIIAT JSC Vadim Donchenko participated in the symposium on May 3: Green and healthy urban mobility: the role of urban and spatial planning. Opened to all THE PEP focal points and stakeholders it was held in Malta. The High-level Meeting of the Bureau is in an extended format and will allow representatives of member States and of stakeholders to participate in the preparations of the fifth High-level Meeting on Transport, Health and Environment (Vienna, 22-24 October 2019).

It is expected to adopt the Vienna Declaration on Transport, Health and Environment, which focuses on the challenges of achieving clean, zero-emission mobility and transport in Europe and on the adoption of the first pan-European master plan for cycling promotion.

THE PEP is a unique political platform that aims to help urban planners and transport officials to address the health and environmental issues of transport using common policy approaches. The main aim is strengthening the integration of health and environmental aspects into transport policies in central Asian countries.

It operates in close collaboration with the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe in Geneva and the WHO Regional Office for Europe in Copenhagen.
