International Scientific and Practical Conference "Development of the System for Providing Assistance to Victims of Road Traffic Accidents at the Present Stage: Experience, Problems, Prospects"

On September 10, 2020, the All-Russian Research Institute for Civil Defence of the EMERCOM of Russia hosted the International Scientific and Practical Conference "Development of the System for Providing Assistance to Victims of Road Traffic Accidents at the Present Stage: Experience, Problems, Prospects", timed to coincide with the 30th Anniversary of the EMERCOM of Russia.
The event was attended by the Head of the Research Department of Transport Economics of the NIIAT Anton Belogreben who presented a report on the topic: “Assessment of socio-economic damage from road accidents in Russia and abroad”.
More than 100 participants took part in the conference. These are employees of emergency services responding to road accidents, representatives of structural divisions of the Central Office, territorial bodies, organizations and institutions of the EMERCOM of Russia. It was also attended by representatives of scientific and higher educational institutions, interested organizations and manufacturers of special tools and equipment, including international ones.
At the conference site, the regulatory legal, organizational and methodological support for improving the efficiency of emergency services, professional training of specialists in the field of eliminating the consequences of road accidents were discussed.
The conference also discussed the need to strengthen the interaction of emergency services responding to road accidents, and the implementation of the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation "On National Goals and Strategic Objectives of the Development of the Russian Federation for the period until 2024."
As part of the event, a constructive exchange of experience and discussion of issues of improving the system of providing assistance to victims of road accidents took place.
In recent years, the EMERCOM of Russia has managed to significantly improve the response to road accidents - to reduce the time of arrival, to improve the efficiency of emergency rescue operations. In many ways, the achieved indicators are the result of the active participation of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia in the Federal Target Program "Improving Road Safety in 2013-2020", the Plan for the Implementation of the Road Safety Strategy for the period until 2024.
