All-Russian competition of professional skill "The Best Bus Driver" was held in Tyumen on May 29 - 31

Scientific and Research Institute of Motor Transport (NIIAT) by the order of the Ministry of Transport of Russia organized All-Russian competition of professional skill "The Best Bus Driver". The competition took place at Production training centre “Avtomobilist” located in Tyumen which is a part of the Federal program “Improving road safety in 2013–2020”, created to improve professional knowledge, enhance the role and popularize the bus driver profession, and form safe behavior patterns among road users.


There were 56 representatives from all over the Russia struggled for a prize fund of 1 million rubles: Moscow and the Moscow Region, the Republic of Tatarstan, St. Petersburg, the Orenburg, Tyumen, Tver, Ryazan, Lipetsk, Kostroma, Samara, Sverdlovsk and other areas and regions. In total 21 regions



There were three female representatives in this year Competition among the contestants: Olesya Kaylorinova from the Tyumen region, Yulia Tumanova from Yekaterinburg and Ekaterina Berloviz from Norilsk.

Many drivers participate and win competitions not for the first time. For example, Pavel Lyabaevi (Tolyatti) is a winner of regional and all-Russian contests. Or Alexander Mosyagin (Ryazan region) who is the winner of the V Final National Championship “Young Professionals” (WorldSkills Russia) in 2017, who became the youngest participant of this Competition. Alexander is only 24 years old.

The competitors had to demonstrate their knowledge of the traffic regulations and execute pre-approved elements as they race around the special track where they demonstrated skills in high-speed maneuvering and driving a bus in a limited space. The competition area was designed take into account situations in which drivers face in their daily work.




The competition was held in two categories: “Medium-capacity buses” and “High-capacity buses” - PAZ 320405-04 and LiAZ-529265, respectively.



Head of the department of state policy of automobile and urban passenger transport (Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation) Dmitry Osipovsky noted that this Competition is held for the third time and for the second time according to international standards "WorldSkills", which, in turn, means that the contestants demonstrated high world-class skill.


Alexey Vasilkov, the Chairman of the Competition commission, General Director of NIIAT, thanked the representatives of the leadership of the city of Tyumen and the Tyumen region for their assistance in organizing the Competition, the  Avtomobilist center for the provided competition area, as well as entrepreneurs who sent their employees to the competitions.

Anton Karnaukhov from Orenburg became the best driver in the category “high-capacity buses” according to the results of the competition.

The best driver of Russia in the category “medium- capacity buses” is Fedor Tretyakov from Tyumen.

The best among the girls this time was Olesya Kaylorinova, she took the 5th place in the category of “high- capacity buses” (LiAZ-529265).



Anyone who wanted to cheer for drivers, their relatives and colleagues could watch the live broadcast from autodrome, which was conducted on the official website www.bestdriver-rf.ru for three days of competition.

Prizes are distributed as follows:

High-capacity bus (LiAZ-529265):

1st place - Anton Karnaukhov, Orenburg, Orenburg Region;

2 place - Nikolay Bykov, Tyumen, Tyumen region;

3 place - Pavel Lyabaev, Togliatti, Samara region.

Medium-capacity bus (PAZ320405-04):

1st place - Fedor Tretyakov, Tyumen, Tyumen region;

2nd place - Vladislav Bortvin, Tobolsk, Tyumen Region;

3rd place - Yuri Omelchenko, Surgut, Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug.
